THE WORLD CHESS HALL OF FAME, U.S.A. EXHIBITED PURLING LONDON ART CHESS
Two Purling London Art Chess sets*, by Daniela Raytchev and Crystal Fischetti, were exhibited at the World Chess Hall of Fame in St. Louis, MO, U.S.A., alongside works by Yoko Ono, Barbara Kruger, Sophie Matisse, Jennifer Shahade and others from 29th October 2015 until 1st May 2016. The exhibition, entitled ‘Ladies’ Knight’ explored societal issues through chess: the artists’ diverse interpretations of the game ranged from playful and feminine to serious and encouraged dialogue on subjects such as crime, language, peace and conflict, notions of beauty and inequality.
